PoMo Board Members
Port Moody Heritage Society is currently looking for energetic people to join our Board of Directors. We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to support heritage and education surrounding the Burrard Inlet. Our members and staff strive to support the community and drive efforts toward heritage conservation through development of exhibitions and collections, as well as advocate for various historic sites of significance such as the IOCO Townsite.
Our Board of Directors provides guidance and leadership on the strategic direction of Pomo Museum. Members who are recruited should be committed to supporting heritage in our community, willing to fulfill the duties of a board member and volunteer their time, talents and other resources to ensure our success.
Meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm .
The Nominating Committee makes recommendations based on experience and interest, current board skills, and principles of equity. The goal is to continue developing our board to best serve the aims, objectives and needs of the society.

Expectations of Board Members:
Regularly attend monthly meetings of the board and related meetings and events
Be willing to commit a minimum of five hours each month in addition to the monthly meeting
Prepare well for meetings by reviewing documentation provided by e-mail for each meeting including minutes and committee report.
Participate in fundraising
Respect confidentiality of matters discussed at the board
We look for individuals with experience in the
following areas:
Board Secretary
Finance/ Accounting
Fundraising
Legal
Marketing/Communications/PR
Human Resources
Government Relations
Grant Writing
We are also looking for:
Not-for-profit board experience
A history of leadership
Reflect the diversity of Port Moody
A desire to protect and support heritage efforts
